Aims and Scope

JSTF will be a refereed open access journal that disseminates original research, theory, and best practices in a wide range of scientific and technological fields. The journal will focus on high-quality publications that demonstrate cutting-edge research in aspects related to the application of science and technology in different sectors, such as , marine pollution, education technology, energy, fisheries, transportation, and water. JSTF will emphasize impactful innovations and acceptable practices on the use of advanced scientific methods and practical engineering principles to generate evidence-based solutions. More importantly, JSTF will focus on the application of classical and emerging technologies for socio-economic development and poverty alleviation. The intention of JSTF is to attract publications that are geared towards solving problems in Africa.

JSTF will cover a wide range of research areas in the fields stated by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), revised in 2007 under the name Revised Fields of Science and Technology. Specifically this journal will cover: Natural Sciences (mathematics, computer and information sciences, physical sciences, chemical sciences, earth and related environmental sciences, biological sciences, other natural sciences); Applied Engineering and Technology (electronics engineering, information engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials engineering, medical engineering, environmental engineering, environmental biotechnology, industrial biotechnology, nano-technology, other engineering and technologies); 

Other more specialized fields covered by JSTF, which also align with OECD), include artificial intelligence, big data analytics, blockchains, circuits and systems, e-governance, E- and M-Learning, embedded and intelligent systems, ICT policies and regulations, image and video processing, industrial and medical tomography, information theories and systems, machine/computer vision, networks and cybersecurity, pattern recognition and analysis, signal processing, software architecture and engineering, virtual reality, precision agriculture, and wireless communications. The journal also covers different areas in emerging technologies.
